Release date: January 2010  ~ Heat: Sexy!

Book Blurb:  When It Comes To Temptation. . .

Turning his back on his old life as a rogue, Gavriel de Marqueda has joined a monastic order in Spain and taken a vow of chastity. Before he becomes a monk, he must pass one final test: help a woman who has lost her way. But when he lays eyes on Ada of Keyworth, he is tempted beyond measure by her sultry beauty and dangerous curves. . .

Rules Are Meant To Be Broken. . .

Far from her home in England, Ada has been battling inner demons for more than a year. When she discovers that her only friend has abandoned her, she has no choice but to grudgingly accept Gavriel’s help. But Ada is not fooled. Though Gavriel wears the robes of a monk, Ada sees that he is a virile man who looks at her with a hunger that matches her own–one that begs to be satisfied again and again. . .

– Carrie Lofty is a newcomer to Romancelandia but her work is that of an experienced author. Solid plotting, interesting and inventive characters, I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. For those of you who enjoy Medieval romances, run, don’t walk, to grab a copy of this book. ~ Cerise, www.ireadromance.com

Review: The Wolf’s Mate by R.F. Long

Genre: Fantasy Romance  ~  Publisher: Samhain Publishing

ISBN: 978-1-60504-702-7  ~ Heat: Saucy!

Release Date: January 19, 2010

Series: A Tale of the Holtlands, Book 2

In this second installment of Jeren and Shan’s journey we find them travelling to the camp of Shan’s people, the warriors of the Fey’na.  However, along the way they are attacked by the evil cousins to his brethren, the Fell’na.  The Fell’na feed off the living, human and Fey alike.  They narrowly escape but there is promise that more will follow.

Shan is one of the greatest warriors of the Fey’na and his return home is celebrated but Jeren’s presence is not as she is a human.  She’s no ordinary human, though, she is a Scion of Jern gifted with great magic, yet she is also the sister of the tyrant Lord Gilliad whose insane lust for power has terrorized the lands.  In fact, that is one of the reasons why Shan has brought her here, to learn from his people how to channel and control the explosive magic within her.  The other reason is to claim Jeren as his mate.  Their love is firm but the duty they have to each of their own people weighs heavily on them.  Enemies surround them in this tale – her brother and his followers, Shan’s jealous Sect Mother, and the dark shadows of the Fell’na.

Author Long has a wonderful gift when it comes to creating the fantasy world and weaving a tale which tests her own characters’ strengths.  Shan and Jeren had a lot thrown at them, it almost seems every five pages another conflict was added to the mix.  Looking back on it the romance actually sits quietly in the background while the growth of Jeren is very much at the forefront.  I look forward to the next chapter in Jeren and Shan’s quest for happiness. ~ Natalie

Book Blurb:  Dear Reader,

Have you ever wanted to know what it’s like to be immortal? To journey through the night stalking vampires that prey on humans? To have unlimited wealth, unlimited power? That is my existence, and it is dark and dangerous. I play hero to thousands, but am known to none. And I love every minute of it.

Or so I thought until one night when I woke up handcuffed to my worst nightmare: a conservative woman in a button-down shirt. Or in Amanda’s case, one buttoned all the way up to her chin. She’s smart, sexy, witty, and wants nothing to do with the paranormal–in other words, me.

It won’t be easy. Graciela hates her on sight. The kid’s greedy, gun-toting relatives are soon hot on their trail. And there’s a certain tall, handsome complication…

Now all Ty wants is for Jenny to hand over his niece. But Jenny Jones has a suspicious nature and a promise to keep. Hey Amazon…

…sometimes it just isn’t about you! I would love to read the publishing news and NOT see your name for once.

What is up with Amazon lately? In trying to hold on to their $9.99 Kindle ebook price model, they’ve dropped Macmillian titles from their site – both print and Kindle versions.

Macmillian wants to increase the price of their ebooks to $14.99 to $15.99 AND take 70% of the cover leaving Amazon 30%.

Normally I enjoy it when someone wants to stick it to Amazon but in this instance I have to agree with them. (I know, alert the media as this is very rare occasion)

Review: Faith, Hope and Love by Beverly Barton

  Publisher: Silhouette

ISBN: 9780373484799

Heat: Saucy!

Release Date: November 2002

Series: The Protectors, Book 16

Genre: Romantic Suspense Novella

Book Blurb: After one passionate night, Faith Sheridan found herself pregnant with her sexy bodyguard’s child. Now she hoped the news of their secret child would be a welcome gift to Worth Cordell this holiday — and the beginning of a lifetime of love….

– For a novella, this story packs a wallop. The beginning of their story is told in the previous title, On Her Guard, so this story is fast-paced and it gets to the point quickly. For me, I felt a little cheated because it lacked the depth Barton imparts in her romantic suspense titles. If you are already reading The Protectors, then this one is a must read. ~ Ana, www.ireadromance.com
